My story is that there was a society in Lahore that was starting a new phase. My uncle bought a file and advised me to buy one as its near GT road and ring road with good location. I bought a file paid installments regularly for 3 years they were doing some ground work and building roads and kept us happy by showing us the development. Then after 3 years no balloting took place and they said not many people paid balloting fee. Later I found out it was all an excuse because they didnt buy all land. The development they showed us was for another project by the same builder that was 50% more expensive. They had no land for us. We waited 3 more years then they showed us another land that was not developed about 2km inland from original. Now after 7 years we are still waiting for a plot that is already too late with the same price that it was bought for. After this I have learned a lesson its better to spend more money on a registered and developed land instead of going for file. Only go for a file if you personally know the owners or you know a high ranking police army govt officer or politician. For everyone else its just your luck. My research told me that all private societies give the best plots to themselves family or bribes. I was scared off realestate then I only invest in stock market blue chip companies.
