Dear All This is not just a story of financial loss it is a story of trust betrayed by one’s own blood. In January 2011 my father sold our only home the house he built with decades of hard work to purchase two apartments in A-One View Arcade PP-17 Block 17 Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi located above Shazz Superstore. The deal was made through Haneef Siddiqi a so-called broker from PECHS but more painfully our relative. We didn’t know Fahad Hashmi. We had never heard of A-One Builders. We had no contact with the builder or his team. The only person we trusted blindly completely was Haneef Siddiqi. And that blind trust became the greatest mistake of our lives. Both Haneef Siddiqi and Fahad Hashmi promised that possession would be handed over within six months and until the building became livable they would pay monthly rent starting October 2011. Fourteen years later not a single rupee of rent has been paid and not a single key has been handed over. In 2017 after endless waiting and false reassurances we found the building covered in panaflexes and advertisements — a cruel reminder that our dreams had turned into dust. My father’s only asset was gone and so was our faith in humanity. As for Haneef Siddiqi the man we called family he took his commission pocketed his share of betrayal and disappeared. He has no shame no conscience no trace of humanity. A man who deceived his own relatives for money cannot be called a human being. He pretends to be respectable boasting of high-profile contacts yet his reality is that of a fallen disgraced broker who was thrown out of his own office in 2022. We are just one of the many families he has victimized. How many more must suffer before such people are held accountable? Let this be a warning to everyone Never trust your hard-earned money to people just because they are your relatives or speak sweetly in the name of family. Betrayal from within is the deadliest kind and we learned that the hardest way. May Allah protect every honest hardworking person from such soulless individuals who wear the mask of kinship to commit fraud. Ameen.
